About the Photographer, Janine Bacquie

I'm an environmental professional, wildlife biologist, and former wildlife rehabilitator. Through each of these roles over the years, photography has been an important part of the way that I express my connection to the natural world. I combine a scientific approach to observing animal behavior with an appreciation for the unique mood of wildlife and ecosystems. With my photography, I strive to capture moments in which the character of an animal or landscape is visible.  By sharing these moments, I hope to inspire curiosity and appreciation for nature.

I am fortunate to live in Jupiter, FL, a location with diverse ecology and plenty of opportunity to view and photograph nature. When I'm not shooting, I'm tending to my birdfeeders or working in my Florida native plant garden/wildlife sanctuary.  My husband and I share our home with an assortment of tropical fish.
